A phenomenal example of 19th century miniature form blanket chest! This chest features hinged rectangular top with applied moldings and sliding batten affixed to the underside, concealing an open interior, case set with a false drawer with period brass pulls above four turned columns, raised on turned legs terminating in ball feet. Appears to be constructed of birdsye maple and cherry with a poplar secondary.
All original, and from a longtime midwest collection.
Measures approx 16 x 11 x 9.5 inches.
