A circa 1890 Plains Native American catlinite pipe and original stem. The stem, is fully carved from ash and has an excellent 130+ year patina. The bowl, made of catlinite has fine lead inlay and great age and use. The bowl has one area where a crack appear to have been stablalized some time ago. Inscribed on the bowl faintly reads "EPHA ROSEN/MOOSOMIN", presumably the MOOSOMIN FIRST NATION/CREE of Canada. The bowl measures 4 1/4 x 2.5 inches. In total, pipe and stem measure 24/5 inches in length.
