A handsome late-19th-century New England spice cabinet constructed from stained birch and poplar.
The diminutive cabinet features seven drawers arranged as three pairs of smaller drawers above a single full-width lower drawer. Each is fitted with a small dark knob and displays traditional dovetailed construction. A shaped and scrolled gallery rises above the case, while bands of applied beaded molding ornament the cornice.
The cabinet rests on shaped bracket feet and retains a warm, richly figured surface with the irregular coloration and wear expected from generations of domestic use. Two suspension rings on the reverse allow the cabinet to be wall-mounted, though it is equally attractive displayed on a tabletop or counter.
A useful and highly decorative example of New England domestic cabinetry, offering appealing scale, architectural form, and abundant small-item storage.

Good antique condition, Some drawer knobs are lose. The drawers operate, with expected. The cabinet retains an appealing historic surface and presents well overall.
