Salt-glazed stoneware mug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to D.P. Shenfelder, Reading, PA, circa 1870. Two incised lines, both at the neck and base, with two cobalt stripes. A fine and rare example of an early stoneware mug. The mug survives in excellent condition with no cracks. A few minor areas of edge flaking and shallow chip is present, with a drilled hole to the top of the handle, likely used for hanging purposes. Measures approx 7.5 inches tall.
