An extremely high quality commission from the Royal court of Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria (1830-1916), crafted by Ferdinand Früwirth (1813-67). Be became a Master Gunmaker in 1834 to the Royal Court of Vienna. The pinfire pistol is approx 11mm, 44cal. The grips are solid Ivory. On the frame under the barrel, visible only when the barrel is tiled up is the makers mark ‘FF’. On the bottom of the barrel, near the frame is the Royal Stamp of the Austrian Habsburg Double-Headed Eagle. The surface retains 90% original. Finaly patterned Damascus barrel. A rare pistol that appears to be unfired.
